More than 1600 candidates are in the fray in the first phase. In this phase, the fate of 9 Union Ministers, two former Chief Ministers and one former Governor has been captured in EVMs. The polling started at 7 am and ended at 6 pm.

In the first phase, Tamil Nadu (39), Uttarakhand (5), Arunachal Pradesh (2), Rajasthan (12), Maharashtra (5), Assam (5), Bihar (4), Madhya Pradesh (6), Uttar Pradesh (8), West Bengal (3) and Tripura, Jammu-Kashmir and Chhattisgarh 1 seat each have voted.
